CHALLENGE

Before joining Words Liive, an educational technology startup, I inquired about the design of their website. It didn’t match the style of the web app and lacked important information about the company. Weeks later, I agreed to join the team as the Systems Analyst. First task? Re-design the website.

SOLUTION

The original site was made using Wix and though I typically do not like drag-and-drop platforms, it was very easy to use. This allowed me to create the site from scratch in rapid time. The original site did not have much information, so I had to do the research and piece everything together.

LESSON(S) LEARNED

Not all website builders, like Wix, automatically optimize for the mobile version. Because I was trying to move a lot quicker than usual, I didn’t do my due diligence of testing on different devices. I will never again put speed before quality.
