As the Director of Technology for my fraternity chapter, I decided to redesign our main website for it to be more interactive and appealing for current and prospective members. As a new chapter full of vibrant and diverse brothers, the site lacked personality.
SOLUTION
The site was transferred from a drag-and-drop service into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Content was gathered to make the site more interactive and colorful.
LESSON(S) LEARNED
Not everyone knows and/or wants to learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript! I created a very interactive site and it received so much praise, but I failed to remember that I wouldn’t be in that position forever. If I could go back and do this site, I would use a content management system with the future administrators in mind. Good thing I went into consulting months later.
