During my final semester in college, I redesigned the website for a non-profit foundation that provides scholarships to college students affected by cancer. To increase awareness and donations, the site had to reflect statistics, information, as well as FAQs for donors and prospective scholars.
SOLUTION
Since the site had static information, we decided to convert it from a drag-and-drop theme into a responsive web design. The design had to convey a strong, serious message to all audiences.
LESSON(S) LEARNED
This was my first paying client and it gave me an early glimpse into what freelancing entails. As a freelancer, you have to view the project from all angles and be able to balance all the roles included.
